Tottenham have approached former Lille manager Christophe Galtier but face competition to hire him, according to reports in Italy.
Galtier left Lille straight after leading them to the Ligue 1 title this season, edging out Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Sant-Germain to seal an unexpected trophy earlier this month.
Spurs have been heavily linked with a reunion with Pochettino (via The Athletic), but PSG sporting director Leonardo has now suggested the Argentine is set to stay in the French capital.
“Mauricio Pochettino has two years on his contract with PSG, and we are very happy,” Leonardo told Europe 1 (via Football London).
And so it seems Tottenham may have turned their attentions to the manager who trounced Pochettino this term.
Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claims Galtier was about to join another Ligue 1 club, Nice, but is now considering offers from elsewhere after three approaches.
It is believed Spurs, Real Madrid and Lazio have all contacted the 54-year-old, so he may the choice of managing in England, Spain or Italy.
Galtier’s name hasn’t been mentioned much in the British press when it comes to Tottenham, but that might be because he appeared set for the Nice job.
Now that’s in doubt, perhaps an English outlet will back up what TuttoMercatoWeb is saying.
I know it is not the club’s fault to be linked with every manager under the sun as a lot of these rumours are pure b… s…, but it is the club’s responsibility to name a new coach very quickly, or is it that no one wants to join…?????…..
I wonder why…….
He will one day get the message, manager realised he full of promises he goes back on!!
NO one wants to work for him
We are getting tired and sick of this continuous rumors and I bet you, spur won’t be better next year neither couple years down the road no matter whom they bring. They won’t finish top four period until they start bringing big time players and flush cash.
Get Conte in, he’s a winner he’s won trophies, that’s what we want isn’t it?
