Troy Parrott stole the headlines for the Republic of Ireland on Thursday night, scoring twice in a 4-1 victory over Andorra (watch here).
But another Tottenham player also made a significant contribution – Matt Doherty provided an excellent cross for the fourth goal.
Doherty endured a difficult first season with Spurs but could excel this term if reports (via the Guardian) about the imminent appointment of Antonio Conte are true.
Conte likes to play a back three with wing-backs, and Doherty is a much better wing-back than he is a regular full-back.
With that in mind, there’s a good chance Conte will give Doherty plenty of minutes if he becomes Tottenham’s new manager.

Watch Doherty’s assist below. Doherty didn’t cross the ball for the 4th goal….
I think you’ll find Doherty passed the ball to the final crosser of said ball, involved slightly though!
