Danny Rose will join Watford on a free transfer following his release by Tottenham, according to The Athletic’s Adam Leventhal.

The defender will leave Spurs after 14 years when his contract expires at the end of the month – he recently gave an emotional interview about his time at the club.

And it looks like he has already found a new club not so far away from Tottenham.

Leventhal, who is always reliable when it comes to Watford news, claims a deal has been agreed in principle for Rose to join Watford when he is no longer a Spurs player.

That means there is still a small chance the left-back will change his mind and move elsewhere, but realistically it seems likely he will be making the short trip to Watford.

The Hornets were promoted back to the Premier League this season, meaning Rose could come up against Tottenham for the first time in his career next term.

He has previously spent time on loan at Sunderland and Newcastle but he has never actually played against Spurs.

Hopefully he can revive his career at Watford after failing to make a single senior appearance in the 2020/21 campaign.
