Incoming Tottenham manager Paulo Fonseca could raid his former club Roma in the transfer market this summer, according to reports in Italy.

On Friday we relayed a story from The Athletic that claimed Spurs will officially announce the appointments of Fabio Paratici as director of football and Fonseca as head coach in the coming days.

And it looks like the pair will waste no time in bolstering the squad by returning to Fonseca’s old stomping ground.

Italian outlet La Repubblica claims Fonseca is interested in signing three Roma players before the start of next season.

He is apparently keen on 23-year-old Spanish central midfielder Gonzalo Villar, 25-year-old Italian centre-back Gianluca Mancini, and 24-year-old Italian central midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini – who also happens to be Roma captain.

Pellegrini recently picked up an injury and will miss Euro 2020 as a result, so that could have an effect on his future.

Fonseca is said to be particularly fond of Mancini and Pellegrini, but how attainable they are remains to be seen.
