Tottenham are already aware Gareth Bale does not want to re-join the club on loan for another season, according to The Athletic.

Bale returned to Spurs on loan last summer after seven years away with Real Madrid, where he won multiple trophies before falling out of favour with Zinedine Zidane.

The manager who bought him for Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, has now returned to the Spanish giants, but it remains unclear whether that means Bale will re-enter the fold at the Bernabeu.

One thing, however, seems almost certain now: Bale won’t be coming back to Tottenham.

The Athletic claims ‘people’ at the club discovered ‘weeks ago’ that Bale has no intention of spending another year in north London on loan.

That said, his future is apparently up in the air and just about anything could happen.

MLS clubs are said to be keeping tabs on the Welshman, though Bale is believed to be happy with his young family growing up in Madrid.

There is sure to be more speculation about Bale returning to Spurs in the coming weeks, but right now it seems unlikely.

  1. He will probably retire in the summer of 2022 when he will be 33 and his contract with Real Madrid will draw to an end.
He must be thinking why would he come and waste his time playing at Tottenham in season 21/22 and who can blame him.
