Tottenham are once again interested in signing Norwich right-back Max Aarons, according to Sky Sports.

Spurs were keen on the defender last summer following Norwich’s relegation, but the 21-year-old ended up staying with the Canaries and helped them get promoted back to the Premier League, whilst Jose Mourinho opted to sign Matt Doherty from Wolves instead.

But the Republic of Ireland defender made just 13 starts in the league, whilst Tottenham’s other right-back, Serge Aurier, has hinted about a return to PSG.

Sky Sports believe that Daniel Levy faces competition from both Everton and Manchester United, although Fabio Paratici is now in charge of transfers in north London, so it will be fascinating to see how Tottenham operate moving forward.

He has just the one year of Premier League experience, and Norwich finished rock-bottom that season, but has already racked up almost 150 senior appearances, more than six months before his 22nd birthday.

Aarons is currently tied down to a long-term deal at Carrow Road, but the reports says that he could be available for just £30m, which is considerably less than Brighton’s asking-price for Tariq Lamptey.
