Tottenham are hopeful of completing the signing of Japanese centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu from Serie A side Bologna, according to The Sun.

The 22-year-old, who can also play at right-back, has been with the Italian outfit for the last two seasons, making 63 appearances in all competitions following his move from Sint-Truiden.

But The Sun believe that Tomiyasu, who’s been capped 22 times by Japan, is keen on moving to the Premier League, with Spurs willing to offer £15m for his services.

Tottenham currently have four centre-backs at their disposal, but one of Davinson Sanchez or Eric Dier is expected to be moved on, which should open the door for Tomiyasu.

His wage demands aren’t expected to be a problem, and therefore the reports believes that a deal should be completed soonish.

He has been named in Japan’s squad for the Olympics, though, which could see him miss the opening few Premier League games of the new season depending on their progression.

  1. Another top quality poundland buy from enic. This will definitely take us back into the top 4 if top No1 spot. Just give us the league now. What a load of garbage enic are set to dish out over the next 5yr plan. When do the tickets go up in price just wait.

  2. Yes I agree.
Had to do a Danny Rose and Google him.
It’s quite simple – Spurs fans need to demand that ENIC put back some of the 1.5bn they have made out of the club since 2001.
Otherwise, we will get punts like this on unproven players and Levy asking for patience!!

  3. Have been saying for I can’t recall how long, that the only thing Enic/Lewis/Levy will understand is if we boycott the club by not renewing season tickets, not buying tickets for home games and not buying official merchandise; unfortunately I might as well talk to the walls as this will never happen…..
