Harry Kane has not turned up for Tottenham training today despite being expected to do so, according to Sky Sports.

The England captain has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Kane believes he has a gentleman’s agreement with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to leave the club this summer.

However, The Athletic has repeatedly claimed Tottenham are determined to keep Kane beyond the close of the current transfer window, suggesting the 28-year-old may have to wait until next year to seal a move away.

His training no-show may put a spanner in the works of those plans. It seems there is now a stand-off between player and club that could result in an ugly divorce or an awkward situation in which Kane is forced to stay for another season.

Either way, many Spurs fans have been having their say on the latest twist in a saga that is sure to last until the end of the summer.

Some voiced their disappointment with Kane while others expressed confusion. See some of the best tweets below.

  3. All total respect to Sonny,he is just has important to Spurs has kane, but he is showing pure loyalty loves the club loves the fans.spurs are now getting rid of the deadwood on the verge of bringing in a 45 million pound Argentine defender, kane cannot say the club are not ambitious honour the contract

  4. Following what erikison done downing tools but can’t u blame him from champs leagues battling for top 4 or even top 2 n now the crap we r now I want out too I hope he stays but if he wants out sell him n go all out n get haaland or lukaku or griezmaan we would get haaland 140 lukaku 120 griezmaan 80

  5. Bad move Harry. No respect shown for the club who pay you £200k per week, the fans who love you, and your team mates.
Just get your boots on and report for training tomorrow. Staying away is just weakening your negotiating position. Leave the club by all means at the right price but leave with your dignity and relationship with the fans untarnished!
