Harry Kane has released a statement insisting he has not refused to train with Tottenham and will return to Hotspur Way on Saturday.

Rumours have been swirling for some time about a possible departure for Kane, who has been strongly linked with Manchester City – Pep Guardiola confirmed the champions’ interest on Friday.

Talk of Kane extending his holiday so that he does not have to return to training has led to suggestions the striker is attempting to force through a move to the Etihad Stadium.

However, Kane has broken his silence by posting a strongly worded message on Twitter.

In the statement, the England captain says he has been hurt my some of the comments questioning his professionalism in recent days.

Has also says he would not risk harming his relationship with the Spurs fans – but some might argue the damage has already been done.

  1. If you never intended to drop from training. Then what is the reason to not show up? Don’t tell us that you not planned to miss training while during your hollidays. And you forgot the the covid 19 restrictions. You have been there before. And you knew this could cause you some trouble, close to you first day after your holliday. You better explain this to your fans and your loyal and professional co-workers at spurs. Don’t claim your professionalizm into this. Professionals do have some integrety to defend. By showing up for training when they are expected to do it.
