Harry Kane has released a statement insisting he has not refused to train with Tottenham and will return to Hotspur Way on Saturday.
Rumours have been swirling for some time about a possible departure for Kane, who has been strongly linked with Manchester City – Pep Guardiola confirmed the champions’ interest on Friday.
Talk of Kane extending his holiday so that he does not have to return to training has led to suggestions the striker is attempting to force through a move to the Etihad Stadium.
However, Kane has broken his silence by posting a strongly worded message on Twitter.
In the statement, the England captain says he has been hurt my some of the comments questioning his professionalism in recent days.
Has also says he would not risk harming his relationship with the Spurs fans – but some might argue the damage has already been done.

As expected, there has been a range of responses to Kane’s words on Twitter, with some Tottenham fans expressing their conflicted feelings towards the club’s talisman.
Have a look at some of the most interesting replies to Kane’s Tweet below.
Hm… don’t blame us. You are the one that missed your first day at work without explanation and then took a week to explain what happened.
Glad to hear (if true) that it is all “a misunderstanding” but fans reacted to the facts, and the information at hand.

So what was going on then? I hope you’re telling the truth but it’s all a bit weird init that the entire world was reporting that you chose not to come to training?

We need clarity, H. Us fans have no clue what’s going on.

I'm sure you won't read this but I'd like to say it. You're the best striker in the world , nobody blames you for wanting to win things. But why has it taken you 5 days to say this? Surely with your name dragged through the mud all week you would have clarified this ASAP?

Harry we don’t want u to leave and understand your frustation. But remember where u came from and leave out the front door and not out the back door

Harry we've always loved you.
This week has been hell – I'm sure for you too! And I'm sorry you've had some hurtful comments.
Why didn't someone just tell us this sooner? All the reports we've read, from usually reliable sources, have said you refused to train. It hurt— It all seems a bit trivial now ? (@MattyFrench82) August 6, 2021
Sack your representatives then. This should never have happened. We all love you H as one of our own. That’s why people are upset

PR team speaking, not you ?

If you never intended to drop from training. Then what is the reason to not show up? Don’t tell us that you not planned to miss training while during your hollidays. And you forgot the the covid 19 restrictions. You have been there before. And you knew this could cause you some trouble, close to you first day after your holliday. You better explain this to your fans and your loyal and professional co-workers at spurs. Don’t claim your professionalizm into this. Professionals do have some integrety to defend. By showing up for training when they are expected to do it.
