Tottenham continued their perfect start to the Premier League season following a 1-0 victory at Wolves.

Dele Alli’s early penalty secured all three points for Spurs. Here’s how every player rated on the day.

Hugo Lloris, 8 – Was forced into making one big save and came up trumps to deny Adama Traore just past the hour mark.

Japhet Tanganga, 6 – Tough afternoon up against the powerful Traore, but got better as the game wore on and held his own despite playing more than 50 minutes on a booking.

Davinson Sanchez, 7 – One poor clearance aside, it was another impressive display from the Colombian.

Eric Dier, 6 – Inexplicably gave the ball away which led to Traore’s one-on-one, but was bailed out by Lloris.

Sergio Reguilon, 7 – Played an excellent pass for the penalty and used his pace extremely well to get Spurs up the pitch in the second-half.

Oliver Skipp, 7 – Struggled in the opening stages and could have conceded a penalty for bringing down Nelson Semedo. Improved after the break and put in some priceless work.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 7 – Like Skipp, covered plenty of ground and could have capped another impressive display with a fine nutmeg only to see his toe-poked effort deflected over.

Dele Alli, 7 – An excellent run into the box saw him win a penalty that he confidently tucked away. His work-rate was outstanding and he seems to be relishing his deeper role under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Lucas Moura, 3 – Hardly involved and was deservedly hooked.

Steven Bergwijn, 6 – Saw his powerful effort well saved by Jose Sa in the second-half before setting up Kane for his chance. Plenty of good stuff by the Dutchman, but he’s still searching for that ruthlessness in the final-third.

Son Heung-min, 4 – Didn’t look 100 per cent and saw two opportunities blocked, which were his only two meaningful contributions.

Substitutes

Giovani Lo Celso, 6 – Came on to help Tottenham keep the ball in the closing stages, and he did a decent job in doing so.

Harry Kane, 6 – Made his first appearance of the season with 18 minutes remaining and should have doubled the lead soon after.

Harry Winks, N/A – Replaced Bergwijn in stoppage-time.

  1. Spurs should buy Adam Traore to improve Spurs attacking which is badly needed.
I have already wrote a letter to Levy about it also need properly central defender and Striker
Will Levy listen to fans and manager and staff????

    • Who told you the manager and staff are asking for Traore. Very presumptious of you think you actually matter to the Chairman that has reportedly turned down $125M for Harry Kane to pull your letter out the bag and said, genius mate let’s sign this guy on your recommendations. First of all Traore is all speed and down the alley, does nit come back to help defend. What we need is a creative player next to Alli. We have no one to fetch and hold unto the ball to string a few passes together. Loceslo proved that when he game on to go get the ball, play it around a few times to settle the team. The sooner Nuno get Tanguy or bring another midfield in, we will suffer in the middle. Nothing against Skipp or PEH but they cannot hold onto the ball when press, that is where Tanguy with all his faults are needed. No need to have 2 holding mids. If that’s the case Bergwjin or Lucas is going to sit for Kane and even then, we will still need creativity outside or Dele Alli. So who do you sit in that case. My quess is skipp will sit and Winks goes further down the picking order.

      • Get ur head out tangy a$$ he’s crap over Paid lazy muppet who spits his dummy out coz he has to work hard to play witch he should have to if he’s not wanting to then get it out the club except a lower fee or a swap for coutinho or aouar or umtiti n coutinho

    • i think our properly central defenders have done pretty well in the last couple of games Rita
…we need a properly creative midfield player!

  2. No to Traore for me ….not enough end product i.e. goals or assists, we should get Guedes who Wolves are after from Valencia

  3. Well done to the fans at the ground for actually getting behind the team after not a brilliant performance (I know 3 points always helps!) and for supporting Kane and not listening to the Sky Man City fan boy narrative.
Sometimes fans forget how to actually support a team! …..look the entitled Woolwich lot. Booed the team off after losing to the European champions, after they`ve just spent over 100mil on new players, and now they want a new manager after hounding the previous 2 out of a job!
