Cameron Carter-Vickers and Joe Rodon have both been ruled out of Tottenham’s Europa Conference League second leg tie against Pacos de Ferreira tomorrow.

American youngster Carter-Vickers made his first competitive appearance for Tottenham in the first leg in Portugal last week, but twisted his ankle and will miss out in north London.

Meanwhile, despite being named in the Wales squad for their World Cup qualifiers next month, Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed that the centre-back is also unavailable and will have to wait to make his first outing of the campaign for Spurs.

Rodon’s only appearance under Santo came as a late substitute against Arsenal in pre-season, but providing he remains injury-free over the international break, will hopefully be in contention to feature against Crystal Palace in early-September or in the first group game of the Conference League should Tottenham make it through on Thursday evening.

When asked about Rodon’s fitness, Santo said: “Joe is not fit for tomorrow. He is better, he’s much, much better but he is not going to join us tomorrow, no.” (via Football.London).
