Tottenham have confirmed the departure of Moussa Sissoko, who has joined Watford on a permanent basis.
Sissoko joined Spurs from Newcastle United in the summer of 2015 and went on to make over 200 appearances for the club.
After struggling to settle in his first two seasons at White Hart Lane, the Frenchman eventually became an important member of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad and was often praised for his work-rate.
His form dropped off again last season and now, with just one year remaining on his contract, Sissoko and Tottenham appear to have decided it is best to part ways.
On Friday afternoon, Spurs announced they have reached an agreement with Watford for the transfer of the 32-year-old, who will now make the short trip to Hertfordshire.
And of course, Sissoko’s first opponent could be Tottenham as Watford are set to travel to N17 in the Premier League on Sunday.
A number of Spurs fans reacted to the transfer on Twitter, with many wishing Sissoko luck and others responding positively to his exit – see some of the best tweets below.
Good luck to Him, As long as he doesn't play on Sunday ?

All the best Moussa. You had a rough start, but proud of how you never gave up and turned it around. Hope it all goes well at Watford.
