Tottenham’s starting line-up for Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Aston Villa has been confirmed.
After impressing on Thursday night, Cristian Romero is handed just his second Premier League start. He partners Eric Dier at centre-back. The full-backs are Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon, and Hugo Lloris is obviously in goal.
In midfield, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso have dropped to the bench despite both scoring against NS Mura in midweek. Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will sit behind Tanguy Ndombele.
It will be Ndombele’s job to provide attacking support for the front free of Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
There is no place in the squad for Japhet Tanganga, nor Ben Davies, though it’s unclear whether they are injured or have simply been left out.
It will be interesting to see if Nuno Espirito Santo has learned his lesson after the diabolical performance at Arsenal last time out in the Premier League. Hopefully Spurs make better use of the midfield this time around.
