Harry Winks is eyeing a loan move away from Tottenham this January and is open to a switch away from the Premier League according to The Times.
The midfielder found himself in a similar situation to this time 12 months ago when he slipped down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho and found the bulk of his game-time coming in the Europa League, but ended up staying in north London both in January and then the summer.
All but one of Winks’ starts have come in Europe this season, with the emergence of Oliver Skipp hindering his chances, which aren’t likely to improve in the coming months.
Therefore, The Times believe that the 25-year-old, who was linked with Valencia last winter, is open to a move aboard.
Tottenham need players like Winks in their squad to be able to fight on all four fronts this season, but given his lack of opportunities over the last year, it’s hardly surprising that he might be hoping to kick-start his career away from north London.
I wonder if he would like to take Doherty with him? I’d even drive them both to the airport!
Is Newcastle abroad?
