Nuno Espirito Santo will make wholesale changes for Tottenham’s Europa Conference League game against Vitesse on Thursday evening.

The Spurs boss revealed that all 10 outfield players that started the Newcastle victory on Sunday will be left at home and rested ahead of the weekend trip to West Ham.

The likes of Heung Min Son and Harry Kane have been used in the third-tier European competition this season, the latter starting the group stage draw with Rennes.

But that was mainly due to the sheer number of injuries Santo had in his squad. And with Giovani Lo Celso back now available and Steven Bergwijn fit again, the Portuguese has the luxury of resting is whole first XI ahead of the crucial London derby with the Hammers.

A reporter had noticed that the outfield players that started at St James’ Park were absent from training on Wednesday morning. Therefore, Santo was asked whether they would be missing the trip to Holland and stay at Hotspur Way to prepare for the West Ham game.

The Spurs boss said: “Yes. We worked today, we prepare the game with the players that are going to start tomorrow.

“Then we had a good training session with the players that are going to stay. They’re going to work tomorrow and then we’ll join all the group on Friday.” (Via Football.London).

Santo also confirmed that both Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon both remain injured and won’t be involved tomorrow.
