Antonio Conte is sweating on the fitness of Cristian Romero following a muscle injury sustained whilst playing for Argentina on Tuesday evening.
Romero has quickly become a key player at Spurs since his summer move from Atalanta, making 13 appearances in all competitions and has started the last five Premier League games.
He has continued his form on the international stage and has helped put Argentina on the cusp of securing their place in Qatar next winter.
However, just seven minutes into the second half of Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against rivals Brazil last night, the Tottenham defender suffered a thigh problem and was forced off.
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has since confirmed that Romero will undergo tests in the coming hours to determine the exact problem.
Conte will speak to the press on Friday and provide an update ahead of the Leeds game, but Romero would appear an early doubt to face Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Bad news for Tottenham and Antonio Conte. Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero goes off injured in Argentina-Brazil clash – and it looks like a left thigh injury. Medical tests in the next hours will clarify on his problem. ⚪️?? #THFC

That’s us f$uked then dier Davis Sanchez 3-0 Leeds
What does Rodon have to do to get a game let alone a run?
Outstanding for Wales and yet ignored by Mourinho(partly) and totally by Mason,Nuno and looks the same with Conte.
Has never let us down and looks an outstanding prospect.
That said we will miss Romero if out for any time.
