Barcelona are interested in signing Tottenham winger Bryan Gil in January, according to reports in Spain.
Gil joined Spurs from Sevilla in the summer in a deal that saw Erik Lamela move in the other direction.
But while Lamela has already scored a handful of goals for Sevilla, Gil has struggled to earn a regular spot at Tottenham, featuring mainly in the Europa Conference League.
A recent injury saw his game time reduced even further, but he did start against NS Mura on Thursday night – though, like many others, he failed to impress.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo is claiming that Barcelona want to sign a low-cost attacker in January, possibly on loan with an option to buy.
Raheem Sterling and Jesse Lingard are among the prominent names mentioned, but Gil is also cited as a possible signing because of his lack of game time at Sours.
There is no indication as to whether Tottenham would be willing to let the Spaniard leave, but at this point he could definitely do with playing more football to aid his development.
Spurs’ willingness may depend on how much regular game time Barcelona will be able to offer Gil, which is unclear as of now.
