Tottenham face Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday and Antonio Conte has a number of decisions to make when it comes to his team selection.
Spurs’ improved run of form continued on Boxing Day with an easy 3-0 home victory over Crystal Palace, but a trip to Southampton could prove to be a sterner test.
There is also the small matter of the game coming just two days after Boxing Day, and with a trip to Watford also just around the corner, Conte needs to manage the squad’s fitness.
That being said, we think there will be only one change to the XI that started against Palace, with Conte aiming to get his preferred line-up through one more game before significantly rotating.
The change will likely see Ben Davies return to the back three in place of Japhet Tanganga. Then, when Tottenham travel to Watord, we will probably see a few changes.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were both taken off relatively early against Palace, demonstration Conte’s cautiousness when it comes to the team’s key players.
Conceivably, he may show more caution at St Mary’s, but it’s arguably a tougher game than Watford, hence the strong team.
