AC Milan are interested in signing Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga on loan, according to Sky Sports.

Tanganga has started 15 games in all competitions, but only eight of those have come in the Premier League, while he’s yet to discover his best position, playing at both right-back and centre-back this term.

The 22-year-old was first-choice on the right under Nuno Espirito Santo, but lost his way after Emerson Royal arrived from Barcelona.

Tanganga has only started three league matches since September and Sky Sports believe that the defender is worried about his game-time when both Eric Dier and Cristian Romero return from injury, with his of his last seven starts coming in a back three.

Tanganga has even been preferred to Joe Rodon of late, but with the Academy graduate concerned about his future opportunities, the Serie A giants are keen on taking him on loan.

Milan suffered a shock defeat to Spezia on Tuesday, but have lost just four times all season and are two points behind rivals Inter Milan in the race for the title. Therefore, this could prove a great experience for Tanganga, and one we think would do him the world of good.
