Everton are interested in a shock move to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan, according to Sky Sports.

The Frenchman hasn’t been involved since he was booed off against Morecambe earlier this month and has been heavily linked with a return to France with PSG, who are managed by Mauricio Pochettino.

It’s been an underwhelming two-and-a-half years since Ndombele made the club record switch from Lyon, with the 25-year-old unable to produce the kind of form consistently that convinced Tottenham to pay £63m for his services.

And Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol believes that the managerless Toffees have joined the race for the midfielder, although he added that PSG remain strong favourites for his signature.

Everton haven’t even appointed a permanent manager yet, so we think that this would be extremely unlikely. Furthermore, Ndombele surely wouldn’t accept moving to a midtable club like Everton, especially with a potential move to the French giants on the table.

Therefore, once the finer details have been ironed out, we expect Ndombele to reunite with Pochettino and become a PSG player before Monday’s deadline.
