Lazio have made an early move to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Gollini is only on loan at Spurs from Atalanta but the Londoners have the option to make his stay permanent at the end of the season.
However, Gollini has struggled when given the opportunity to play for Tottenham, making errors and struggling to keep shots out on a regular basis.
With that in mind, perhaps a move back to Serie A will appeal to the 26-year-old.
Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claims Lazio have made contact with Gollini’s representatives over a possible summer move.
The report suggests he could stay at Spurs because Antonio Conte requires a deputy for Hugo Lloris, who recently signed a new contract.
But surely there will be other options when the transfer window re-opens.
Lloris has been in superb form this season, though he was arguably at fault for both goals in the disappointing defeat to Wolves on Sunday.
In any case, Tottenham do need capable back-up for the Frenchman – and Gollini isn’t of the required standard.
