Antonio Conte wants to reunite with Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij at Tottenham, according to reports in Italy.

And the Dutchman could be available for a cut-price fee in the summer.

Conte’s preferred back three of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies has fared relatively well in recent weeks, but Spurs are struggling with a lack of depth at centre-back.

Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga have both lacked consistency when brought into the side, while Joe Rodon is finding it nearly impossible to get any game time at all.

That’s why it’s highly likely Tottenham will enter the market for a new centre-back this summer, and it sounds like De Vrij could be a primary target.

Italian outlet Inter Live claims De Vrij, who won the Serie A title under Conte last season, could be sold for just €25-30 million this summer.

And the report suggests Conte is keen to manage the 30-year-old again.

As with most prospective targets, whether Spurs qualify for the Champions League could be a huge factor when it comes to luring De Vrij.

If Inter qualify for Europe’s top competition and Tottenham don’t, then it might be difficult for the Londoners to convince De Vrij to join the club.
