News is breaking that we have agreed a £4m fee with Portsmouth for Kevin Prince Boateng. This is obviously great news. Only this morning I was thinking that perhaps we should just make him available on a free to get him off the wage bill.
What is surprising though is the added news that Jamie O’Hara will also join Portsmouth, on loan. I’m an admirer of O’Hara. He may not be blessed with great skill, but he is a worker and obviously has an eye for goal. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he became a ten goals a season man, given regular first team action.
Such a move would leave us very short of central midfield options, so one can only assume that the rumour is either rubbish, or that we are very close to signing one of our transfer target.
