On This Day In Spurs History: 23rd March

1963 – Bobby Smith and Jimmy Greaves are on target as Tottenham earn a 2-2 draw at Filbert Street against Leicester City.

1971 – Spurs win an away game game at Ipswich 2-1, as Alan Gilzean and Martin Peters grab the goals.

1985 – Tottenham were challenging for the title and defeated Southampton 5-1 at White Hart Lane, with goals from Ossie Ardiles, Mark Falco, Glenn Hoddle, Garth Crooks and Garry Brooke.

Spurs In The News: 23rd March

Having stirred up a lot of trouble by reporting that Wilson Palacios wanted to join Real Madrid just a couple of week ago, The Sun now claim that he’s happy at Tottenham. Make your mind up. It’s increasing seeming like you’re just trying to sell newspapers with these silly stories.

While in the Oh, Ah, Daily Star, Wilson states that Spurs can’t afford to slip up between now and the end of the season. Doesn’t sound much like us.
