Today In Spurs History: 21st April

1982 – After a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane, Spurs lost 1-0 in the return leg of the European Cup Winners’ Cup against Barcelona. We’ll get our revenge against them next season.

1990 – Having won at Old Trafford earlier in the season, Tottenham did the double over Manchester United, thanks to a 2-1 home win with goals from Paul Gascoigne and Gary Lineker.

2003 – Teddy Sheringham scored his last goal for the club in a 3-2 away win at West Brom, with Robbie Keane scoring the other two Spurs goals.

Eidur Gudjohnsen tells The Sun that he wants to stay at Spurs.

Jermain Defoe talks about the World Cup in The Mirror and rather worryingly refers to himself in the third person.

The Independent breaks down the Pompey debt and reveals that they owe Spurs £4.5m. What with nicking Kranjcar off them for buttons and flogging most of our unwanted squad members to them over the years, I reckon we can call it quits.
