On This Day In Spurs History: 17th May

1972 – On this day in 1972, Spurs went into the second leg of the UEFA Cup final against Wolves, holding a 2-1 advantage after winning at Molineux. We made it 3-1 on aggregate when Alan Mullery headed home from a Martin Peters free kick and though Wolves made it 1-1 on the night before half-time, we held firm to win 3-2 on aggregate and lift our second European trophy.

  1. Seriously do we want Joe Cole, over rated, over priced, over the hill and injury prone. Do not believe he would be a good signing.
