On This Day In Spurs History: 14th June

1994 – On this day in 1994, an F.A. commission found the club guilty of making illegal loans to players between 1985 and 1989. We received a £600,000 fine, a 12-point league deduction and were banned from playing in the FA Cup. Alan Sugar launched an immediate appeal (see, he did have his uses) and we would start the season with both the points deduction and the FA Cup ban rescinded.
