On This Day In Spurs History: 18th August

1952 – On this day in 1952, Ricky Villa was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Having been park of the winning Argentina World Cup squad in 1978, Villa was signed by Spurs, along with his team-mate Ossie Ardiles. Villa played a total of 179 games for Tottenham and scored 25 goals.

Two of those goals were scored in the FA Cup final of 1981. The second of those goals is widely accepted to be the greatest in the history of the competition.
