Thank you Niko Kranjcar. Not only did his last minute strike win all three points for Spurs, but by making the score 2-1 he also ensured that I picked up three points, whilst the professional pundits only got one. Here’s what the table looks like now:
Mark Lawrenson: 20
TottenhamBlog: 17
Jeff Stelling: 11
Andy Gray: 9
This week Lawrenson and Stelling are united in picking a Spurs win, while Andy Gray goes for Sunderland and I think that our under-strength side will see us struggle to a draw.
Andy Gray: Sunderland 1 Spurs 0
Mark Lawrenson: Sunderland 0 Spurs 2
Jeff Stelling: Sunderland 1 Spurs 2
TottenhamBlog: Sunderland 1 Spurs 1
A 2-1 win is not out of reach for Spurs. I am not unduly worried about the absence of the trio (Modric, Bale and van Der Vart) for the game against Sunderland. Spurs have strength in depth and on their day Defoe Crouch and Pav can cause havoc in front of goal.
C Chikie — yes on their day but their day doesn’t come around that often and, it seems, never together!!
