Predictably all today’s headlines are dominated by tomorrow’s game in the San Siro and much of the talk is about Gareth Bale. Meanwhile, another player who will definitely miss the match is Jermaine Jenas.

JJ is missing through suspension and admits that he is gutted to not be involved.

“It’s heartbreaking, but it’s part of the game. I’ve seen players miss World Cup finals and Champions League finals for a second yellow card, and I can’t imagine what they were feeling. At least I’ll hopefully be ready for the second leg.”

Jenas went on to talk about the confidence and belief in the squad ahead of the game: “We have already been to Milan and it’s an added bonus that we have been there and experienced the atmosphere. Nothing will be a shock to us.

“The second-half performance from us was a catalyst for how we have gone on throughout the season. We went on a great run and I think that gave us the belief that we can pretty much do what we want if we put our minds to it and all work hard together.”

With injuries and this suspension, the team may pick itself and on the back of three league wins. Let’s hope JJ is right and there is no shortage of confidence among the squad.

  1. He’ll be missed about as much as JlS and Ndubs will be from, musics all time ‘hall of fame’ awards. a bit like Cheryl Cole missing the point of well anything…its to be expected really. At least now they will have to do more than grunt at the runt to gain posession….COYs. Other than saying that Bale is actually pretending and is raring to go, you could not have warmed my heart with better news.

    • Jenas is actually having quite a good season, he may not be our first choice but with Bale and Modric out, we could actually do with him you know!

Needs to score more goals, but at times this season he’s been pretty good, give him some credit.

      • agreed. When he has played this year he has put everything into it and has done a pretty good job. props to him for working hard in training and seizing the opportunity when it comes his way
