So the waiting is over and we now know the final 8 names for the Champions League draw which will take place tomorrow.
The quarter finalists are Spurs, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Schalke 04 and Shakhtar Donetsk so it’s all eyes on Nyon in Switzerland to see who our next opponents will be.

Meanwhile, a headline in yesterday’s Evening Standard read, ‘Fear Barca? We’re more worried about Spurs says Wayne Rooney’.

When you read the story he didn’t actually say that, but the United striker was very complimentary.

“Now we’ve got to look and see who we get. Barcelona are the favourites and are playing some great football but I’m also enjoying watching Tottenham play at the minute.

“It’s great to see them in their first year in the Champions League the way they play. I’ve been very happy we play on different days to them because it’s good watching them.”

The comments echo what many are saying and that Spurs have been a breath of fresh air in the Champions League this season. Long may it continue…

  1. anybody except the english teams and inter milan. We play chelsea and man utd 4 times at least every year anyway and we have already been to the san siro twice so lets hope for something new. Obviously Schalke is the one to hope for, but hey, we arent going to win it so lets have the spanish big boys and go out fighting. COYS
