The Tottenham XI game against West Ham at Spurs Lodge this week was notable for the return to action of Ledley King who seems to have got through the full 90 minutes unscathed. Led made his first appearance since the first team’s game at Fulham in October and helped the side to a 3-2 win after going two goals down early on.

This was a strong Spurs side with King and Sebastien Bassong playing alongside loanees such as Harry Kane and Jon Obika who have returned to the club after the end of season for their loan clubs. From the 2-0 deficit, Kane scored twice to level the scores before Paul Jose M’Poku scored the winner.

The game underlined the promise shown by some of the youngsters and it will also be interesting to see if Ledley is risked before the end of the season or whether he’ll be kept right away from the first team in the hope that he will be able to play a part in the 2011-12 campaign.

  1. Don’t agree King should start, gallas has been a rock for us. However much us fans love King i think we need to accept he should retire at the end of the season. Paying someone nearly 4 million in wages per year when they play a dozen games isn’t acceptable.

Maybe a pay as you play deal could work.

    • King is still the best CH we have by a mile. I’m assuming after tuesday night, Gallas wont be fit for the weekend. King should certainly be offered a pay as you play/coaching role next term.

  2. Well as King cannot play 2 games in a week that his him ruled out then. Would I drop Gallas or Dawson for King now, not on your life!
