While any real transfer decisions at Tottenham may have to wait until the speculation over Harry Redknapp is dealt with one way or another, there have been some interesting stories coming out of Italy today.
The papers keep referring to Wilson Palacios and suggesting that he has to make a fresh start in Serie A following his well publicised family tragedy and today, Napoli have emerged as candidates for his signature. In return, Tottenham have supposedly been linked with a move for Argentine ‘striker’ Ezequiel Lavezzi, but the Napoli president has told fans that their stars won’t be leaving. Lavezzi’s record is around a goal every four games so it could be to our advantage if he stays where he is.
Meanwhile, stories about Aaron Lennon continue and a link with Juventus has come about this morning where new coach Antonio Conte is believed to have mentioned the right winger as a specific target.
In recent months we have seen Gareth Bale, Jermaine Jenas, Alan Hutton(!) and now Palacios and Lennon linked with Serie A moves. While none have come off so far, the only fact to possibly come out of these stories is that Palacios is looking to be surplus to White Hart Lane requirements, whoever is in charge when 2011-12 comes around.
Palacios maybe…… Lennon definitely not. If he did move then likely it would be to another English club.
Seems as if Palacios plays way too much off of confidence, which usually happens to be in the gutters. he’s always making sloppy passes and poor decisions.. we have Sandro whose been pure quality since joining and THudd whose quality we know well about. Also if Parker is picked up Palacios would fall way down the pecking order and would just be surplus… SELL palacios get what we can £5-10m MAYBE(i think he was bought for around £14m)… KEEP Lennon…and BUY a PHYSICAL striker..steamy bukake
I’ve mentioned this before and its probably not the best idea but could you imagine keeping Crouch and signing Zigic from the now relegated Birmingham.. Lennon and Bale providing the crosses.. it would be insane, like DVDA
