When looking at transfer rumours it’s pretty much impossible to tell the ones that have substance from the ones that generate from bored reporters with nothing better to do.

However, the story linking Pablo Osvaldo with a move to White Hart Lane had been gathering some momentum until today, when reports emerged that he is happy for at Espanyol for now.

Osvaldo is 25 and had enjoyed a fairly modest career until moving to his present club last season where he started to average a goal every other game. Prior to that move, he had played for six clubs in Argentina and Italy and his
record was average to say the least.

It is suggested that Espanyol have now put a £20m price tag on his head and when you look at his stats, it doesn’t seem to add up.

So Osvaldo joins Miroslav Klose and Kevin Gameiro on the list of strikers who won’t be coming to White Hart Lane and the question remains as to who will be brought in to strengthen the strike force.
