The club has announced that Ledley King has undergone a successful arthroscopy of his left knee. The procedure took place on Monday evening and our club captain has been told to rest for the next 10 days.

After this, he is expected to return to full training within the following 10 days and while this all means he will miss the club’s tour to South Africa, he should be available for the rest of pre-season.

Whether Harry Redknapp will use the centre half in friendly matches prior to the new campaign remains to be seen but providing there are no more setbacks, Ledley will be fit for the first game of the season at home to Everton on August the 13th.

  1. Get well soon Ledley. Harry better not use him in any friendlies. King’s games are numbered, we all know this. When he plays, he is one of the best CBs in the world and we are a much more formidable side with him in the lineup. Dawson plays so much better next to King, so much calmer than he ever has been with Gallas (or anyone else).

Ledley won’t be able to play 38 games for us this season but I think 20-25 is a reasonable goal for him and there is no reason to waste a couple of those games in South Africa. By the way, if he reaches 25 matches for us this season, we are a top four club for sure.
