As far as the rumour mills are concerned, the race is on for Spurs to find the new Ledley King and after on-going target Gary Cahill has been linked with Barcelona today, there is a suggestion that the club could look abroad.
One name mentioned is that of Lorient centre half Bruno Ecuele Manga, a 23 year old Gabonese international with 20 caps for his country to date.
Manga is something of a late developer having drifted around French football for the last five years. However, after being trusted with a first team place at Lorient after Laurent Koscielny left for Arsenal, he has impressed at both club and international level.
If there is any truth in the story, no doubt Spurs would have had the player watched to the extent that any transfer wouldn’t be the ‘punt’ that it first seems. However, Ledley has big boots to fill and whether Bruno Ecuele Manga is up to the task looks a bit doubtful.
NOT TO IMPRESSED WITH YOUR STORY YOUR HEAD LINE SUGGESTS SPURS ARE AFTER THIS GUY AND MAYBE EVEN SIGN HIM , YOUR ENDING THEN SUGGESTS HE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH BUT ITS OK FOR SPURS TO BE INTERESTED IN HIM INFACT HE WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR SPURS !!!!!!!!!!!!
get over it….
It’s called personal opinion John, hence why this is isn’t called “OfficialTottenhamBlog”
Hmmm, not sure. If he was being kept out the Lorient team by the hapless Koscielny, it doesn’t bode well.
That was my first thought as well. Still, I’d prefer Spurs look abroad than pay over the top for someone local.
