Tottenham may have just scraped through in their last match against Fulham but this Spurs side underlined their superior quality by dominating their game with Aston Villa from start to finish.

Spurs had the greater share of possession throughout the game and it may be fair to say that a 2-0 result flattered Villa.

“We played some great stuff,” said Harry Redknapp after the match.

“We had one or two clear-cut chances before we scored the first goal, then scored the second and had three or four good opportunities in the second half.

Harry singled out Luka Modric and Younes Kaboul for praise but went on to compliment the whole side.

“I was pleased with the whole team. I thought back to front we were solid, we kept possession, moved the ball well,” he added.

“I think Villa are a decent team but we restricted them to very few opportunities.

“There were lots of good performances and it was a good, all-round team performance. I love watching us play and I thought we were great.”

The win takes us into third, four points behind Manchester United with a game in hand and next up for Tottenham is a trip to West Brom in a rare Saturday fixture.
