While Harry continues to dominate the headlines there’s the small matter of our Premiership fixture against Newcastle United on Saturday evening as Spurs prepare to welcome their boss back into the dugout.

Normally at this stage of proceedings we have an injury update and the club will be sweating on the fitness of a number of players including Jermain Defoe, Rafael van der Vaart, Younes Kaboul and Aaron Lennon.

Injury news may be delayed as Harry gets used to day to day duties at the club so for the time being it’s over to former Magpie Scott Parker for an assessment of the task in hand.

“I’m sure it will be a great game,” said Scott. “Newcastle are in good form, they are doing well and it will be tough.

“We’re at home and we look forward to it. We’re strong at home.

“Newcastle have got a good squad and a very good manager who is organised and it will be a difficult game, but we’ll look to win it.”

Let’s hope that for those not going to the game the TV Cameras turn their attention away from Harry and onto the pitch where a win would go some way towards consolidating third place.

  1. Looking at the training pix on facebook Defoe and Lennon seem o.k but no Rafa, Kaboul or Sandro. Freidal, Walker, Dawson, King, Benny, Bale, Parker, Modric, Lennon, Ade and Defoe up top should do the job.

  2. Really important game this (when aren’t they these days??) and I hope that a few of the injured players are back for it. Cisse and Ba will be a handful so hopefully Kaboul will be back to play with Ledley. We missed the pace of Lennon against the bindippers so hopefully he will be back too. Has to be 3 points!!!

  3. Toon are coming!
We are missing key players so don’t expect to win anything on Saturday but will drink lots and have a bloody good time!

And with the Demba’s in form who knows?????

  4. Stuart Pierce is my man for the top Job and then the sack . Harry will learn being a club manager you can get back in the good headlines by winning the next week. The trouble with Internationals they come in months unless your in a tournament and the criticism is nation wide and savage in its intensity. Will is beloved Sandra or his son Jamie enjoy these headlines my guess is no. Lets talk about our game i think the media frenzy will have a negative affect on our season because the Nation the Media are all clambering for Harry too ditch Spurs and become England Manager. Some of these Managers like Pardew ex players and fans have other reason hoping we plummet down the league and this could be our worst fears. We have too trust Modric Ady and others who would want to leave if Harry goes and we have no new Manager on board and will they now give 100 percent to get us in the top four without Harry. Only time will tell and i for one have my doubts they will give there all when they could be in the team below us Chelsea or if you believe the rumours Barcelona. This has been a good week spoilt by the resignation of Capello and i find it hard to believe it was just a coincidence Harry’s trial and Capello meeting and Harry missing the Liverpool game. This begs the question did Harry have a secret meeting with the FA to sound him out i hope not.The game will be strange and its taken the thrill of winning because our leader is being taken away by mass hysteria running through the country. Lets hope we rise above it and dont do what some of those media and fans want us to do and plummet downward. Coys 3-1
