Harry’s handwriting has been the butt of enough jokes in recent weeks but it’s hard to resist the suggestion that it is responsible for Spurs going after Marvin Martin and not Marko Marin.

Stories began to emerge yesterday suggesting that the club were considering a bid for Sochaux midfielder and French international Martin after the player revealed that he is ready to head abroad.

“I’m ready to go play overseas, but I have not made a decision about my future,” he said.

“I know there has been contact but I’m 100 per cent focused on France and the Euros.

“I do not know if something can be done before the Euros. If not, we will wait and see how things develop.”

The report carries on to claim that Spurs are one of a number of clubs tracking the 24 year old who has 11 caps for his country ahead of the Euros.

Described as a play-making midfielder he could be one of a number of men on the radar if a certain Croatian leaves this summer.

  1. One of the only French players I’ve seen something of. Looks like a class act and is very highly regarded in France as “the next Zidane”. Problem is they said the same about Taarabt?
