Towards the end of last season, Spurs defender Danny Rose expressed his displeasure with the lack of squad rotation at the club which resulted in a lack of playing time. Speaking before the Villa game – in which he was sent off – he said,

“It’s been very frustrating. I wanted to go out on loan at the start of the season, and in January, and I wasn’t allowed. But it looks like I’m in the team for the end of the season now so I’ve just got to play well and take it from there.”

“I haven’t been happy, there’s been no secret in that. The team hasn’t been rotated that much.”

In recent days, a ‘Tweet’ has also hinted at some frustration,

‘Decent to see new young faces drafted into the England squad !! Looking forward to going somewhere next season and PLAYING some games !!!’

The latest comment was taken down after an angry reaction and now rumours are emerging linking Danny with a move to Stoke. He isn’t 22 until next month so does he simply need to be patient or should he be given a chance to prove himself ahead of BAE next season?

  1. In a word – No
Not good enough. If it wasn’t for his wonder goal against the arse i think he’d have been moved on already.
Not an out and out winger, and not as good as Naughton defensively.
If we want to be top 4 consistently, we need better back up then Danny Rose

    • Sad but true.
That wonder goal vs the goons was an act of god that will stay with me forever.
But as a LB/LM he is well below par and needs a year on loan to see if it can be ironed out.
Either that or sell him along with bentley and Gomes and dos santos and Jenas for whatever we can get.

  2. Couldn’t argue with Jurgen’s summary.

Good attitude, seems a decent kid but not good enough for this current Spurs side (unless we are crippled with injuries). He and the club would be better off parting company, with our best wishes.

  3. get rid of him now and take redcrap with you. He is not a top 4 quality player. He will only be remembered for that wonder goal against the scum a few years back.

  4. He had his chance to show us what he could do at the end of the season and he did nothing. Possible even worse than nothing. No where near good enough and i can’t even see him getting in the Stoke side if thats where he wants to go. Definitely a championship quality player, hopefully we’ll palm him off to someone like West Ham for a ridiculous amount of money.

  5. He’s not as good as he thinks he is. You can’t blame him for Tottenham’s failure of getting 3rd spot but he didn’t help getting sent off at Villa. I’m sure with 11 players we would have overcome Villa dispite Harry bringing on Scotty instead of Defoe. Sorry Rose it’s time to go……

  6. His most decisive contribution to last season was to get needlessly sent off in the crucial game against Villa. Other than the wonder goal on his league debut he has done nothing to warrant a first team place. He needs to shut up and work harder!

  7. He’ll forever be a legend for that goal against the Scum, but with all due respect, Assou-Ekotto is one of my favourite players, and I certainly don’t want to see him transferred/replaced at left back

  8. He should stay. Benny is first choice and we need back up. He can also play left wing. He’s young and ok getting sent off against villa was stupid but he deserves to be given a chance. Seems like a nice lad, he’s got talent and he’s ambitious.
We need homegrown players, it’s good for the club for lots of reasons so i don’t know why you’re all demanding he leaves when you’ll be moaning soon enough that we spend £10m on a useless foreigner who ends up as back up to Benny or Bale and moans when he doesn’t get a game

  9. Let him leave. Simply put he would struggle getting a start at West Ham! Not good enough, sell him for what we can and use the money to buy Levy a new watch ticking down the Transfer Clock!!!

  10. OUT ROSE , OUT BENTLEY , OUT CORLUKA , OUT NEILSEN , OUT GOMES , OUT JENAS , OUT DEFOE , OUT CUDICINI , OUT VDV , OUT REDNAPP , AND WAKE UP WITH MORE CONSISTANCY LENNON , BALE , PARKER , LIVERMORE , AND IF AND ITS A LARGE IF KING CAN PLAY 15 / 20 GAMES RETAIN HIM IF NOT RETIRE HONOURABLY .

  11. well i dont know what to make of danny rose.. i liked him at first but that sending off didnt do us any favours, that was his chance when benny was injured 2 show us wot he cud do, i like defoe so i dont want him or vdv out.. Redknapp deserves 1 more season.. but levy I know your greiving but transfer window is going tick tock.. COYS

  12. Benny was injured at the end of 2010/11 and if I remembeer rightly Rose came in and did very well at LB. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for this season. Simply put he isn’t good enough. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.
