Is this man Tottenham’s main striking target?

by Matthew Harris on July 21, 2012

According to the Evening Standard, AVB is looking to bring in two strikers to the club before the seasons starts which is probably a wide move considering we only have Defoe and Kane carrying the goal scoring responsibility at present.

The paper also goes on to claim that the head coach’s first choice is Dortmund centre forward and Polish international striker Robert Lewandowski. The 23 year old averages around a goal every other game in the Bundesliga and has been linked with a move away from his club since before the end of the German season.

Target number one he may be but it’s thought that Manchester United as still favourites for Lewandowski’s signature and that given the high transfer fee and wages involved, Spurs will quickly drop out of any race.

from the cradle to the grave... SPURS! July 21, 2012 at 10:41 am

i,m sick of all this speculation about who we are going to buy, if the money is there?. then go out and get these players. we need a keeper, left back and two strickers, oh and if modric does go , a replacement for him. have this theory , that if we get rid off all the dead wood who are there (we all know who they are) the selling of players like modric and other fringe players. plus the transfer kitty , surely there is enough dosh there to bring in these top quality players we need, if there is an ambition to really challenge for top honors this season and beyond, then DO THESE DEALS!. stop pussy footing around get “em in NOW!….. from a very frustrated (for yrs) spur.

Assuming Adebayor is a “done” deal, then I’d be happy with any two of; Hulk, Damiao, Adrian Lopez or Rondon. Not long ago you’ll remember Remy was touted for a transfer to WHL but since AVB has come in, that link has gone cold. Obviously AVB doesn’t rate him as much as Redschnapps did (and I’d agree).

chelsea bid for lewandowski according to the papers today and inter say they dont need to sell damaio so im not sure what top striker is available for us – hulk would cost over 35 million and i cant see levy even thinking about that one – unless we strick to what we have in midfield and use the modric money for hulk

This guy is mental and has terrible spelling. Can’t even work out who a couple of the players are supposed to be…

We definitely need a striker though. Maybe a gem will become apparent at the Olympics from a far off corner of the world – never say never.
