While it’s yet to be confirmed by either club, reports are claiming that Sebastien Bassong is in the final stages of agreeing a permanent move from Spurs to Norwich City. Those reports suggest that a fee has been agreed between the two parties and a medical is taking place today.
Seb moved to White Hart Lane in 2009 after just a year at Newcastle and although he was an immediate first team choice, he found his opportunities limited in the seasons that followed. In fact, he’ll probably be remembered more for the goals he scored rather than his defending.
Bassong scored the winner against Liverpool on his debut and netted a vital goal in our Champions League qualifier away to Young Boys. Aside from that, it’s probably been three years to forget but we wish him well.

Who are you and why do you continue with such mental posts?! Pienaar has gone a long time ago you nutter!
Yes…and why does he always shout? And why can’t even spell “Tottenham”? It is spelt for him at the top of the page? You cannot be a Spurs fan and not be able to spell it! Who is Modroc? Sounds like a 60s-70s rock band.
Bassong did an ok job for us, but if we can offload his wages and it means Caulker will get more 1st team exposure then I say this is a good move.
Fully expect Jan Vertonghen to start at the weekend with Kaboul.
I’m praying that Llorente to Spurs rumours are true, I think he would be brilliant for us. Was at the Lane last pre-season when we played Bilbao and he was superb.
Pjanic, I’m not so sure about him. I think our midfield 3 is ok.
Would love to see Llorente at Spurs but I doubt we’d get him. One that seems to be floating just under the radar is Dzeko. I doubt we could offer his wages but he is a quality player and fits the bill perfectly for us. Proven in the PL (rememebr his debut at WHL last season anyone?). Scores whenever he gets off the bench…did it again on Sunday.
Can play the lone man up front that AVB likes. Less moody than Ade too.

Sell: Bassong, Bentley, Rose, Jenas, Livermore, Gio and Modric
Buy: Sahin (on loan + highest possible fee for Modric), Llorente, Dzeko (“lower” wage than Ade and better striker), Dries Mertens (PSV) and a RB cover option.
Selling Dawson would be a bad idea. We saw last season that 4 quality CB (without Gallas) is a minimum after all the injuries.
Livermore? Why him? Proved on Saturday, exclude the early booking, that he’s more than good enough for a place in the team.
Sandro, Parker and Huddlestone are better. Livermore is a fine player, but not for a top 4 club imo.
With Bassong now officially gone (via his official Twitter page), I’m a little worried by the potential loss of Michael Dawson as well. Can we really afford to risk having only four centre backs as the window closes? Remembe that William Gallas is often prone to injury. Risky move by AVB.
I think we’ll poach chamakh from the scum, with the quality we have in the middle he will do well at the lane
Good luck to him. Glad to see he’ll be working with Hughes.
