Spurs face a potentially tricky trip to Carrow Road tonight to face a Norwich side who are just starting to grind out some points at the bottom of the Premiership table. Tottenham new boy Clint Dempsey is wary of the threat posed but at the same time, the American international is confident of progression.

“I saw the game against Villa. It was at Villa Park and they were taking it to them in the second half so Norwich are a team that does have quality and a good work rate,” Dempsey said.

“We will have to go there, be sharp and put in a professional performance, but I feel that if we go there and play as we are capable of and perform as we did in the first half at Southampton, we will be fine.”

The outcome could largely depend on the sides put out and there should be starting places for Adam Smith, Iago Falque and possibly Andros Townsend. A repeat of last season’s 2-0 league win at Carrow Road and a place in the quarter finals would be a welcome sight at the end of ninety minutes.
