David Bentley is back at the Lane but with no real hope of breaking into the first team, it seems as if he will be back out again before January’s transfer window comes to an end. Officially, David is still on loan to FC Rostov but the three month winter break in Russia began around two weeks ago and the player is already looking ahead.

“I have really enjoyed my time at Rostov and I am feeling fully fit after playing on a regular basis,” Bentley has told Sky Sports.

“I will return to Tottenham in January and find out what is happening with regards my future, but ideally I want to be playing – whether that be at Tottenham or somewhere else.”

Sky’s story states that Bentley impressed at Rostov although reports out of Russia don’t necessarily back that up. It seems likely that he will be on his way once again but other clubs will prefer to take another loan deal rather than gamble on the winger on a permanent basis.

  1. Honestly, I still can’t believe what has happened here with David Bentley. Whether he is to blame, or it’s down to injuries, or the quick change in managers a few seasons ago screwed him over, his best years are behind him and you’ve got to feel sorry for the guy. Personally, I think it’s time to either stick him in the team or sell him for a cheap price.

  2. The guys not even a winger wherever he ends up stick him in the middle a let him knock passes around.only ended up on the right at Blackburn because Steven Reid got injured done an ok job though.
