Emmanuel Adebayor was left on the substitutes’ bench for the Newcastle game as Tottenham’s head coach Andre Villas-Boas revealed that the striker arrived back in England at 6pm on Friday.

The club had hired a private jet to bring the Togolese back into the country but with Tottenham taking the early Saturday kick off, it was felt that Ade wasn’t quite ready.

“He arrived on Friday around 6 o’clock, landed in Luton. So he joined the team in the hotel. He was authorised to come back on Friday,” AVB.

“Some issues have arose that have put that comeback in jeopardy but he still was in time to come back and make an impact from the bench.”

Asked if Adebayor would be dealt with, Andre replied.

“We shall, it is done, we won’t talk about it publicly.”

That action is rumoured to be a fine in the region of £160,000 but whatever the facts are behind the story, the events of the last few days could have an effect on Ade’s future when the transfer window comes around once again.

  1. Was it me or did Ade receive boos from some sections of the crowd?

Fine him. He deserves that. But I think its also important to remember that he was there (at the game) and was prepared to play. In-fact when he came on, he did well, and played a part in us re-establishing our grip on the game.

Ade is being dealt with by AVB and Levy. For the sake of our clubs fortunes, its vital we move on and support him just like we do with all our players!

  2. Adebayor should sit down and think about his career instead of doing unnecessary things. There are a lot of things he hasn’t won. And not his ego can help him do that. He needs to work his talent. Lot of players haven’t got what he got and he needs to come down and think about it. Otherwise he is going to end up being a waste.
