Earlier this week we were discussing the probability of Harry Kane spending the rest of the season on the substitutes’ bench as cover for the senior strikers at the club. With Jermain Defoe injured, Emmanuel Adebayor became the sole, experienced centre forward and it seemed logical that Kane would shadow him for a while.

Harry was brought back from Norwich City – presumably with that intention but the club has announced this afternoon that the player has now joined Leicester City until the end of the season.

At the same time, Kane has signed a new deal with Tottenham until 2017 so he must be highly regarded by AVB and the rest of the coaching staff.

However, it will seem a strange move for many supporters that Harry Kane has been allowed to leave on loan. Perhaps the logical conclusion is that the head coach feels that he just isn’t ready?

  1. Norwich ended his loan agreement, it wasn’t us recalling him. And we have so many midfielders that can play further forward that we’re trying to accommodate, he won’t get many opportunities at the moment, despite being highly regarded. Needs to impress on loan.
