Alleged Spurs’ target Gonzalo Higuain has fuelled rumours about a possible move to the Premiership by refusing to talk to the Spanish Press about his future. Higuain has been a bit-part player at Real Madrid for much of the season but has shown his undoubted class in recent weeks by scoring six times in five matches for both club and country.

The Argentine scored his side’s first in their 5-1 win over Levante at the weekend but wouldn’t be drawn as to whether he would be staying at the Bernabeu.

“I’m not going to talk about that now,” Higuain said.

“I can only say that I’m committed to the club and will help the team until the end of the season.”

With 103 goals in 183 league games in Spain, Higuain would be a huge capture for Spurs but naturally the suggestion is that Real would be looking for Gareth Bale in return and at the moment, no player is worth that sacrifice.

  1. We should not have to offer Gareth Bale to Real Madrid to be able to sign Gonzalo Higuain we let them sign our best player at the time “Modric” when Real said they have a special relationship with us, If they want to prove this to be true then they should return the favour by letting us have first option on Higuain with no strings attached.

  2. Lets forget about Real. They are in it to use us. That’s it. We are supplying them our best players, and we get their bit part players? Higuain would come to play with us for a year and then decide, he want’s to go to a bigger club again yada yada yada. Our best chance is to convince Bale to stay, we gave him his chance, this is his club and have the ambition to forge his Legacy through Tottenham. Be the Man, not just one of the many. We need him to be like Jack Wilshere for Arsenal or like Gerrard for Liverpool.
