Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas reported some positive news surrounding Tottenham’s injured trio of Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe and it seems that all three have a definite chance of starting the game with Manchester City on Sunday.

“There are positive signs,” said Andre on the club’s official website. “Jermain has trained with the team all week and is showing excellent signs of improvement.

“Gareth has trained with the team in the last two days and he’s made a great recovery, great work by the medical department.

“Aaron hasn’t trained with the team yet, he’s trained alone and we’re hoping to have him back for tomorrow’s training session, so he’s in with a chance.”

With so much at stake, the temptation must surely be to play all three to give the side the best chance to get three points from the game.

With only Gallas, Sandro and Kaboul on the sidelines, here’s how we think the side will line up but what’s your view?

Save bale Lennon Defoe for impact , give the lads who’ve played a bit of confidence .

  2. I would personally put Vertonghen in the centre, his best position, with Dawson and give BAE another chance because we know he has the quality, he’s simply lacking confidence after his injuries! Plus I feel Parker, he’s giving the ball away too much, should be replaced by Huddlestone. Every time he has come on he adds an extra dimension to Spurs’ play with his unbelievably accurate long balls which is something we’ll need against City.

  3. Are there any others that agree that Parker is holding us back? Not a good option going forward and not winning nearly enough ball as last season.under Harry he sat in front of the back four, rather effectively, but in AVB’s style he is frustrating to watch goibg forward and passing it forward. If Sandro wasn’t injured I would not have missed him. Even though I would probably select him to maintain Yaya(the best in his position in world football), but i can foresee Scotty being battered.
I would prefer too see Holtby as our nr6 for the future.

I’d rather having Ledley as he is today at left back than BAE !! Hudd has ruined City before and can again. Remember it was only a couple of seasons ago that we one at their place to gain CL and that was without a so called ball winner (Hudd & Modric in the middle). Dont need one tomorrow as Toure is too strong so pass the ball around him. The enthusiasm of Holtby and Siggy would match well against their midfield who are equally busy and perhaps even Ade will get motivated for this one. My worry is Dawson who was smashed in this fixture last season. I hope he’s watched that game again and learnt from it. COYS…..PLEASE !

  7. We need a victory, nothing else. A draw or a loss, and we’re chasing tails the rest of the way. We have the game in hand, but Arsenal have collected 7 of 9 points with only United left at home. We still have to travel to the bridge. We both play Wigan, but we travel and they visit Arsenal. Dang it, we should have taken care of business in the beginning of the year. Too many ridiculous losses like the one to Fulham a couple weeks ago.
