Over the course of the weekend, rumours began to link Danny Rose with a permanent move to the Stadium of Light after a largely successful season long loan with Sunderland. With a new manager in place in the North East, the player merely said he was focusing on his football but he did claim that he’d made up his mind with regards to a preferred destination.

“The main priority now is to have Premier League status for next year. Once that’s sorted, once we’re safe, I’m sure there’ll be a conversation to be had,” Danny said.

“I know what I want to do next year, and we’ll just see what happens.”

However, reports this afternoon are claiming that Andre Villas-Boas wants the player back in the fold and in the first team squad next season. At the time of writing, there are no direct quotes available but the Press Association has claimed AVB’s views on the subject.

Covering for BAE has been a bit of a nightmare for the boss and maybe it could just be a case of getting Rose in as a more permanent back up – a situation that seems unlikely to be a suitable one for the player.

  1. If tottenham fail to qualify and bale leave tottenham then buy nani from manutd. This wonderful player is useless in that club but hope bale remain in tottenham and qualify for champion league.
