With the end of the league season just under two weeks away, there are suggestions that Spurs are already looking to make their move with Gareth Bale and will look to break the club’s wage structure in an attempt to keep the Welshman at White Hart Lane.
Bale keeps exceeding his own incredible standards and after notching his twentieth Premier League goal of the season in our 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, the vultures will surely be hovering now after something like two years of speculation.
Reports emerging late yesterday claim that Gareth is about to be offered a deal worth £130,000 a week – a significant increase on the £75,000 that he is believed to be on right now. Those reports also claim that the player is perfectly happy to stay for now and that he is content with the club and doesn’t want to uproot his young family.
It all sounds very positive but in the background, it does seem increasingly likely that the player’s and club’s resolve will be tested this summer by some big money approaches from elsewhere.
